Gala decernării premiilor Oscar ediția cu numărul 82 a început ca un musical și a continuat la fel: Hurt Locker – Avatar 5-3. “The Hurt Locker” i-a luat premiul pentru scenariu original lui Tarantino  plus alte trei trofee pentru montaj, mixaj și editare sunet și, cele mai importante, regia și premiul cel mare.
